Survey teams began marking the final alignment of two new Hyderabad Metro corridors on Monday, officials said, starting a six-week exercise to fix station locations, depots and the land that will be needed.
The work covers the extension towards the airport and a line through the old city. Officials said the survey would try to keep property acquisition to a minimum by following existing road medians wherever possible.
Residents' associations along the route have asked for public meetings before station sites are frozen. Officials said a draft plan would be placed in the public domain for comments once the survey is complete.
