Hyderabad, October 5 (Open Frame): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has reportedly taken key action in the Rangareddy District Medical and Health Department. Rangareddy District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr. Swarna Kumari has reportedly been caught by ACB officials in connection with a bribery case. According to information, the ACB received a complaint alleging that a bribe was demanded in return for facilitating the approval process related to a hospital. Based on the complaint, ACB officials are said to have planned and conducted a trap operation. In the process, Dr. Swarna Kumari was reportedly taken into custody in connection with a ₹1 lakh bribe case.
Searches at DMHO Office
Following the detention of Swarna Kumari, ACB officials reportedly conducted searches at the DMHO office in Shivarampally. Health Inspector Srinivas and a few others are also reportedly being questioned by the officials in connection with the case.
Meanwhile, another report has stated that DMHO Swarna Kumari and her assistant were detained by ACB officials over allegations that ₹2 lakh was demanded to reopen a physiotherapy centre in LB Nagar. According to the information, the assistant allegedly received ₹1 lakh in the transaction.
The ACB officials are yet to disclose the complete details of the incident. The investigation is reportedly continuing into the alleged demand and acceptance of the bribe, as well as the possible involvement of other officials.
