Officials in Warangal opened 180 paddy procurement centres for the kharif season and said all paddy would be bought at the minimum support price.
Farmers were asked to dry their paddy so that moisture stays below 17 per cent. Payments will be credited directly to farmers' bank accounts.
Officials said gunny bags had been stocked in advance and that a helpline had been set up for complaints.
